1. Revolt Cycling to Open London’s First Energy-Generating Studio
Revolt Cycling is preparing to launch London’s first energy-generating indoor cycling studio in late 2025 near Chancery Lane. Powered by Energym’s RE:GEN bikes, the facility will convert human power into clean electricity to feed directly back into the studio. 2. Peloton Faces Revived Investor Lawsuit
Peloton’s legal troubles resurfaced as a Manhattan appeals court partially reinstated claims that the company misled investors during its post-pandemic downturn. Investors allege Peloton concealed weakening demand while stockpiles of unsold equipment grew. 3. Gold’s Gym Expands in Brazil with 60 Locations
Gold’s Gym has signed a master franchise agreement to open 60 clubs in Brazil over the next decade, beginning with a flagship in 2026. Led by BodyTech co-founder Dan Chor, the expansion will target São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Brasilia.The design will pay tribute to the original Venice Beach “Mecca” while offering modern amenities. 4. Virtuagym Unveils Max AI Coach
Amsterdam-based Virtuagym has launched Max AI Coach, a new AI-powered tool that creates personalized workout plans within 20 seconds. Integrated into the Virtuagym Coach app, it draws on a database of 6,000+ exercises while factoring in client profiles and trainer input.The system allows gyms and trainers to deliver scalable, customized coaching and will later expand into nutrition guidance, community engagement, and business analytics. CEO Hugo Braam called the tool a milestone in Virtuagym’s “AI-first” strategy to transform member engagement.

5. Basic-Fit Introduces “Fitbuddies” AI Workout Companions
From September 1, Basic-Fit has launched Fitbuddies, AI workout companions available in its mobile app for members in the Netherlands. Based on data from 4.4 million members, the five AI personas—Glow, Power, Strive, Vibe, and Energy—offer motivation and guidance at critical moments, particularly 4–6 weeks after joining.The initiative reflects Basic-Fit’s strategy to boost member retention while keeping staffing levels lean. 7. Keep Reports First Adjusted Profit
Chinese digital fitness platform Keep Inc. announced its interim 2025 results, showing an adjusted net profit of RMB 10.3 million, marking a turnaround from a RMB 160.7 million adjusted loss in the same period last year.Total revenue fell 20.8% year-on-year to RMB 821.8 million, due to strategic downsizing of low-performing businesses and a pivot toward AI-driven services. CEO Wang Ning highlighted the successful pilot of AI Coach “Kaka,” which has already gained over 150,000 daily active users. Keep aims to sustain profitability through efficiency improvements and further AI product innovations.
8. Fitness Brasil Expo 2025 Sets New Records
The 26th Fitness Brasil Expo was held in São Paulo on August 28–30, drawing an estimated 30,000 visitors—a record for the event. Covering 28,000 square meters across five halls, the expo featured over 160 exhibitors and multiple forums.Global and local brands such as Life Fitness, Technogym, Matrix (a gold sponsor), and Kikos showcased their latest products.
