1. BowFlex and Horizon Fitness Launch Apple Watch-Connected Treadmills


Johnson Health Tech’s BowFlex and Horizon Fitness have introduced new treadmills, BowFlex T9 and Horizon 7.0AT, featuring seamless integration with Apple Watch via Apple GymKit technology. These treadmills allow users to track key fitness metrics like heart rate and calories in real-time, enhancing their workout experience. Both models also offer advanced features like Rapid Sync™ technology for quick speed and incline adjustments, making them ideal for a variety of workouts. The BowFlex T9 will be available exclusively at DICK'S Sporting Goods later this fall, while the Horizon 7.0AT is already on sale.


2. Peloton Partners with Amazon to Offer eBooks on Exercise Equipment


Peloton has partnered with Amazon to allow users to read Kindle eBooks on their exercise bikes and treadmills. This feature is now available on Peloton Bike, Bike+, Tread, and Tread+ models, giving users the option to enjoy a book while working out. The Kindle library can be accessed directly from the device’s display, adding a new layer of entertainment to Peloton’s immersive workout experience.


3. PowerMax Expands Globally to Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UK


Indian fitness brand PowerMax is expanding internationally, entering markets like Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UK, and Dubai. Known for its innovative fitness solutions, PowerMax is aiming to make a significant impact in these new markets, with plans to further expand into Germany, Canada, the US, and Mexico. The brand is also strengthening its online presence through partnerships with Amazon, Noon, and Carrefouruae.


4. Precor Announces New Distribution Partnership in Scotland


Precor has partnered with Your Gym Equipment to distribute its products in Scotland. This strategic move aims to enhance Precor’s market presence in the UK, leveraging Your Gym Equipment’s local expertise. This partnership will ensure that Scottish customers have access to Precor’s top-tier fitness equipment, supported by tailored services and solutions.


5. Peloton to Launch Strength+ App Focused on Strength Training


Peloton is set to release a new Strength+ app dedicated to strength training. This standalone app will offer guided gym workout programs, personalized coaching tips, and custom workout generators. Designed for users who want to focus on strength training, the app will include detailed instructions and video demonstrations, catering to both gym-goers and home fitness enthusiasts.


6. Chinese LEFIT Expands Rapidly, Adds 425 New Stores


Chinese fitness chain LEFIT has added 425 new stores in the past year, with its GMV growing by 40% in the first half of 2023. LEFIT now operates over 1,500 locations across China, with more than 10 million registered users. The brand’s success is driven by its innovative business model, which focuses on convenience and accessibility, offering 24-hour gyms and a strict no-hard-sell policy for trainers.


7. Therabody Introduces TheraFace De-Puffing Tool


Therabody, known for its Theragun massage devices, has launched TheraFace, a new de-puffing tool that combines cold and heat therapy. Priced at $149, this portable device aims to improve skin firmness and elasticity and will be available starting September 3rd through Therabody and Sephora channels. This launch is part of Therabody’s ongoing expansion into the skincare and wellness market.
